Full course description
Welcome to Course Design Considerations! This is an asynchronous course focused on designing Canvas courses using UDL (Universal Design for Learning) and Instructure's Course Evaluation Checklist. This course contains pre-recorded training segments from our traditional 90-minute virtual training sessions. These segments have been broken down into 10-minute videos to better fit your busy schedule. Please plan to practice along with the videos in order to walk away with a final course outline that you can use for each of the content areas you teach.
UDL is a framework that emphasizes flexibility and accessibility in teaching geared towards meeting the diverse needs of students. Incorporating UDL principles into your teaching (whether you are teaching in person, online, or a combination of both) can significantly benefit all learners. CAST (Center for Applied Special Technology) (2018) provides a UDL framework to help guide your course design decisions: CAST UDL Guidelines
